HOLIDAY & AFTERSCHOOL CLUBS

Usually, we run various holiday sports and activity holiday clubs at our New Ferens Park venue in the City of Durham. We are hoping we may be able to get back to running these during the Easter holidays but have to be patient and wait for government updates before we can release any details. You can read some FAQ's about our normal holiday clubs  towards the bottom of this page

In the meantime, we have been running super successful online clubs.

Our Online Lego Clubs during the February half-term holidays were a HUGE success. As a result, we have scheduled 2 weekly afterschool clubs for children to join starting Monday 22nd February.

Our sessions will run for an hour and will consist of several building challenges for all to get stuck in to.

Mondays 4:30-5:30pm

Wednesdays 4:30pm - 5:30pm

The sessions will be run in a block of 5 weeks taking us up until the Easter holidays. Whether you are homeschooling or attending school at the moment we would love you to join us.

Our sessions will run for an hour and will consist of several building challenges for all to get stuck in to.

All sessions will be provided via zoom meetings via a CRC checked coach so you will need to have access to a zoom account to join. You will also need to have available as much lego as you have in your house for the challenges we are setting. We will require an adult to be present during the session but this can just be within earshot

Why should we join? Can't they just play by themselves? - Children have ample opportunity to get their lego bricks out and play by themselves. We are hoping to make these sessions as much of a social experience as a lego experience. See and chat along to other children and our coaches. Those regular attendees of our holiday clubs may see some familiar faces.

But aren't Simply Sport only a SPORTS company? - Since 2001 we have been running holiday sports clubs and school PE sessions. Our holiday clubs however have always included more than just sports. Pre COVID we were running a successful activity club alongside our sports club where children could attend and take part in all sorts of activities other than sports such as LEGO building. We have also been delivering LEGO clubs as afterschool clubs in local primary schools. One school had 40 participants coming along on a weekly basis.

When will the sessions be running? - We will be running 2 sessions a week during term time. Monday and Wednesday evenings at 4:30pm - 5:30pm.

How much will it cost? - Each session will be a minimum of £15 for a block of 5 weeks.

Does an adult need to be with the child? - Our staff member who is leading the session will be CRC checked as are all of our staff however we do ask that an adult is in the same room as the children who are attending to protect both the children and our staff. The adult doesn't need to join in and can certainly be busy doing other things whilst the session is going on. Hopefully, we can give you a little respite from all the home childcare/homeschooling that has been going on.

How do we sign up - Its simple, follow this link to the booking form, payment details are on the form.

NORMAL HOLIDAY CLUB FAQ'S

HOW DO I BOOK

Links for any club will be posted on this page and shared with all subscribers to our mailing list.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

It depends on how long you book for. £16 from 10 am - 4 pm or £18 from 9 am to 4 pm.

We normally run wrap-around care 8 am - 5 pm but are unable to do so at this current time.

WILL MY CHILD BE SAFE?

We have been running holiday clubs since 2001 so have plenty of experience within our team. Venues we use are secure and safeguarding is top of our priority list.

WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU DO?

Our football sessions are self-explanatory.....they do plenty of football all day.

In Multisports we try and do as many different activities as we possibly can which keep the children engaged, active, and are suitable for the children attending. We do also like to give the children a certain level of ownership allowing them to have input in the sort of activities we do.

Activity clubs involve loads of indoor play. Lego building, computer games, arts and crafts, bingo to name a few.

IS THE CLUB INDOOR OR OUTDOOR?

Usually, we have access to both indoor and outdoor in the shape of the outdoor sports pitch and an indoor activity room. Government guidance has changed what we can provide in recent holiday clubs. When we get the green light to again run the clubs we will make it clear exactly what sort of clubs we will be making available.
